There was something about this combination of rice and plantains that didn't do it for me. Maybe I need the texture of the plantains to be more pronounced in order to offset the rice like in other types of food. It just felt too "starchy." That being said, the flavor of the rice was really good.

The injera tasted just like what I have had in Ethiopian restaurants and was a great accompaniment to the beef dish.

I am not a huge fan of cumin and I find it overpowering in many dishes. This bread had a hint, but nothing more which was really nice and intriguing. It also had a great consistency.

Lastly, the snapper was both beautiful to look at and eat. The flavor profile of all of these dishes was refreshingly unique.

I have this cookbook and made a couple of dishes. It is pretty good, but I wasn't crazy about what I made from it. As others have mentioned in previous comments, recipes don't always end up as they were intended in the final product. I didn't try the anjera yet but I am going to do that based on your recommendation.
